I hope most of these are not necessary, but this is just to make sure that this will be a safe and enjoyable experience for all involved! |
one. No NSFW: No content that is overtly sexual, content on par with game level of violence is acceptable. |
two.Your work should not feature any content that is generally agreed upon as 'problematic', i.e. rape, incest, loli/shota/age gaps, etc. I understand that some of this might be portrayed in canon DR, but it should not be promoted here. |
three. Please use content/trigger warnings as applicable: as there were concerns about this, I would like everyone to use their best judgment if you wish to include sensitive topics like self harm or abuse, and you MUST have all content properly tagged. Please be mindful if you want to include bigoted content like homophobia/etc.; if it comes across as being hateful, it will not be shared. WE will be using the [trigger name] tw format for blacklists, please reach out if there are concerns about this. |
four. You may contribute any media form you would like for this: art, fics, edits, etc. Please do not trace art/etc.; if you are making something that uses content that isn't yours, be sure to have proper credits and permission for it. And since this is a concern that has to be addressed these days, I will be clear: any content that was made with AI is not allowed and will not be shared. |
five. No one that identifies as proship, terf, radfem, etc. will have their content promoted here. Any sort of hateful speech to other participants will not be tolerated. |
six. Be respectful of your fellow participants. Just because you do not agree with headcanons or portrayals does not mean you have the right to attack someone for it. |
This includes any sexuality, gender, ethnicity, etc. headcanons that people would like to explore in their works, for any background characters that may be included. 'Genderbents' are allowed, but please be mindful in the usage of this language. There is an explanation detailed in F.A.Q. if there are concerns about this. |
seven. Should it be brought to my attention that you are harassing another participant, your content will be removed from whatever social media it has been shared on, and you will not be included in any future events. There will be very little leniency on this. |
eight. And lastly: tag your entries with #ishimondoweek2024, and please feel free to tag on social media as well! If you haven't broken any rules but don't see your work reblogged, please feel free to reach out. We all know that social media sites are not always websites that function the way they are supposed to, unfortunately :') |
If something isn't addressed here, please check the F.A.Q. before sending a message my way, I'll be happy to answer any concerns people have. |
F.A.Q.
Who is the mod running this? This wasn't something many people asked about but I felt like it should be acknowledged for transparency.Hi! My name is Sin, aka @memoriashell. I generally stick to my own little corner of fandom, but I occasionally write, translate, and scanlate material. I haven't hosted a ship week before, but I've helped host a few gift exchanges in the past. Please feel free to reach out at any time if there are any concerns you have. Can we include other characters? Is including Ishida acceptable?Of course! You can include other characters and ships as you like, but the focus should be clearly Ishimondo. If you wish to use Ishida/Kiyondo in some of the pieces you produce for this event, I do not see any reason to exclude him. Like any other character, please do be mindful as to how you are portraying him.Do we have to stick to a canon basis? Are we allowed to have Crossovers / AUs? Canon Divergence? No, you don't need to stick to the killing game or pre-despair timelines; nor do you need to stick to other canon material like the novels or DR:S. You are more than welcome to write crossovers, non despair AUs, your own niche AUs: as long as you are not breaking any rules, you are allowed free reign as to what you use. Understandably, some prompts allow for these better than others, but do your best!Additionally, as this was also brought up in the interest check: while I am sure most creators are fine if you make fanwork of their AUs/etc., please reach out to them personally if you need permissions. Please make sure you credit them for their AUs, obviously. I do not desire to reach out to individuals regarding this because I do not want them to feel pressured to feel like they need to agree. This is also why no specific AUs made it to the prompt list despite a few requests, but only more general/generic ones.Does multiple prompts mean I have to use all of them? Not at all! If you would like to find a way to incorporate more than one prompt into your work, that is up to you! If you would like to do multiple pieces per day, that is also up to you!Do we have to follow the prompts?Yes and no. Following prompts is more in the spirit of the week, but feel free to interpret as strictly or loosely as you wish; see the ideas that I have provided for each day if you need some inspiration or an idea of what a looser inspiration might look like. If the prompt for that day doesn't particularly inspire you, feel free to revisit a day and choose a prompt you haven't used.Do we have to participate in every day?Nope! I understand that every day may be difficult to achieve. Please feel free to participate in as many or as few days as you wish.I want to participate, but I don't think I'm creative enough/I'm too busy/etc.While we'd love to have you join, that's okay! If you don't feel comfortable with your skill level or don't have the time, participation by supporting everyone that is creating work for the event is very much appreciated. Is it okay if we do prompts outside of the scheduled week?Late entries are absolutely acceptable, as long as it follows the rules. It may not get reblogged right away, but I will be happy to promote any late entries on their respective platforms. Is there a certain quality we must reach to be able to participate? Not really, since everyone has different skill levels. It shouldn't be something that you've rushed to create in five minutes just to meet a deadline, but it doesn't need to be a fully clean, polished piece of work either. Are all headcanons acceptable? As long as they are not breaking any rules, yes. Please note that any ethnicity/race headcanons should not be whitewashing as Asians are still POC.As for gender, we ask that everyone respect how people feel on this topic when it comes to certain characters. I would like to keep the mood of the event positive and be as inclusive as possible. If this is something that people would also like to be able to blacklist regarding a specific character, please reach out so I can figure out a good tag for such.Lastly: there were a few split opinions, but 'genderbents' will be deemed acceptable for the event. While I would rather encourage straying from the terminology (many feel like this has become a restrictive term as defaults gender as binary), I also understand this is just common terminology for many people, and this is a more comfortable gender expression to some. I don't wish to limit what people can explore in this regard, so that's why the decision was made to settle for this. Will you tag X for me?I am aiming to tag most of the common ones, but if there is one you are concerned about, please just let me know so I can make sure it is tagged.I believe you shared a work that breaks the rules/from someone that should not be allowed to participate! Please reach out with some kind of evidence so I can properly assess. While I will be doing my best to be thorough with the content and participants, at the end of the day I am only human and mistakes happen. I am asking for evidence so this does not turn into baseless witch hunting against someone you dislike.I don't use tumblr/twitter/etc, can you share my work still?I will generally share on the platform you post on: i.e. if you post on tumblr and instagram, I will share on both platforms. If you only post on twitter/x, I will only share on there. If you only post your writing on Wattpad, for example, then I will share wherever you request me to share your work, if you do not have an account. I would strongly prefer being able to share a post so you can directly receive credit and attention for your work, but I don't mind posting on your behalf if it is preferred. What platforms is this being hosted on?Official social media accounts are as follows: tumblr, instagram, twitter/x. I will also be creating an AO3 collection for the event. There were other platforms requested but: the number of people requesting them were very minor (less than 5%), and some of the platforms in question, I am not familiar with enough to know if there are means of sharing content within the platform or creating collections. What about Discord? There were a handful of requests for a server, but I do not personally want to be in charge of a server mainly because more often than not, I cannot be present enough to moderate. While I would love to assume everyone would be civil, if something did happen while I was unavailable, I would feel bad for not doing my role. I also do not want to drag any friends into moderating a danganronpa discord server on my behalf, understandably. If someone wishes to organize a server for this, that's totally fine. I won't take any issue with that, just I won't likely officially support it either. What is an AO3 collection, anyways? Is it mandatory for participation?Something I should have done from the start: here is the official AO3 F.A.Q. regarding this. Basically, a collection would be a means for people to see in one place all the works done on AO3 as a part of this event. If there are questions about how to add a work to a collection— please reach out! Besides helping with the process, I can always do it on my end as long as you give permission. No, this is not required to post to the collection if you are posting on AO3. It is simply meant to be an option for those interested.Secret Santas...?There's a separate F.A.Q. for it that will be added soon, please feel free to reach out if you have any specific inquires regarding this.My question isn't here.If you still have questions, please feel free to send an ask or a dm. I have also set up a curiouscat for those who would prefer a different method of contact.
prompts + suggestions
July 14th: Family / DatesJuly 15th: Promise / SicknessJuly 16th: Roleswap / SeasonsJuly 17th: Competition / FutureJuly 18th: Talentswap / GiftsJuly 19th: Confessions / SoulmatesJuly 20th: Free Day** For the Free Day, you are free to use a prompt that you hadn't used on one of the previous days if you would prefer a specific prompt to follow.Remember— these are just ideas to help with brainstorming, you are not limited to interpreting the prompts in just these ways.Family: You could choose to interpret this as being in relation family members (canon or head cannoned) for a scenario like meeting the in-laws; or them building one of their own (with pets, fan kids, v3 kid AUs, etc). Another angle could be a reflection on their own childhoods, with a focus on their family life/dynamics to tie it back to the prompt.Dates: Quite a few options to go with, off the top of my head: first dates, blind dates, double/group date, fake dating, or even a study date lol. This could also be interpreted in the sense of important dates like birthdays, anniversary, etc.Promise: This one might be a tad bit easier on the writers since all you'd need to really do to meet the prompt is throw in one 'promise between men', but you can definetly get creative with it. You could go a more canon route of 'I'll build your house bro' or 'We'll get out of the killing game alive' to anything else you could think of, big or small— perhaps even broken promises (as serious or silly as you'd like, e.g. 'you promised you'd stop speeding')Sickness: Just a few ideas besides a literal cold— lovesickness (figurative or more literal like a hanahaki AU), a despair disease scenario, or a mental health day.Roleswap: Anything that generally swaps the canon role would apply here. So Protagonist AUs, Mastermind AU, Survivor/Future Foundation AUs would all be applicable here. Remnants of Despair AUs may also apply, see the elaboration given in the Talentswap section.Seasons: Take this as liberally as you'd like. Focus on one season or all; focus on seasonal activities like going to the beach, a seasonal school vacation; or a seasonal holiday/festival, just to offer a few different ways you could try and meet this prompt.Competition: With how competitive these two are, hopefully this won't end being too restrictive. Be this between the two of them, one rooting for the other for sports/other extracurricular activities, or a double date scenario with someone as competitively spirited. You could also stick to more canon moments for reference like the Sauna Scene or the race between Mondo and Daiya.Future: You could do something with Futuristic themes like cyborgs/androids/etc. Or more broadly approach the prompt with discussions of the future (v3 talentplan style), or in settings where they're older (be that 30 or 80, however you wish to interpert it).Talentswaps: The difference from the roleswap Is that the former implies the talent isn't changed, just the role within the story. A talentswap may change several factors, but most notably the talent. So whether you're swapping just the talents between the THH cast or swapping game premises as well (e.g. v3 au with SHSL Inventor Oowada), all of that would be better suited here. Remnants of Despair AUs could go here if it's a talent swap that includes SDR2's general premise, but if the talents were to remain the same AND the concept to be (for example) that Junko chose Class 78 over 77 to brainwash, then that could fall under a Roleswap instead.Gifts: This should hopefully be easier to achieve as a prompt, but this could be around any kind of celebration involving gifting (birthdays, holidays, etc.), or just a general occasion of wanting to get a gift. Maybe focusing on having difficulty with finding a present, etc.Confessions: This could be anything from a love confession, or a completely innocuous thing like— oops, I’m the asshole that has been in your parking spot bc I’m dyslexic and thought it was mine meet cute(?). Perhaps it could be one of them receiving a love confession and the reaction around it.Soulmates: Since I know there are quite a few ideas people have come up with over the years for soulmate AUs, I think this one should also not be too difficult (hopefully). Here are four lists I got just from googling, should you need a few ideas about what you might do:https://www.tumblr.com/r-evolve-art/144380748003/
https://www.tumblr.com/ausforsoulmates/190255248494/
https://www.tumblr.com/thegeminisage/94680598838/
https://www.tumblr.com/creativepromptsforwriting/647547186533531648/You could also go more straightforward with red string of fate concepts for soulmates as well, or just the idea of soulmates, not necessarily a soulmate AU if none speak to you!
